The Meliorism Works Fund Difference
Community CatalystCash
Our mission is to uplift individuals who are managing trauma while facing financial hardships. Through our Community CatalystCash program, we provide valuable assistance in various forms, such as dental care, rental assistance, summer camp for children, 30-day bus passes, and so much more. We truly believe in the power of community support and are dedicated to providing the resources necessary to help those in need.
Referrals
We work closely with our grantees, offering them guidance and assistance in accessing a wide range of government services and community resources that are tailored to meet their unique needs and interests. Our goal is to ensure that they are connected to the support and resources meaningful to them so they can overcome hardship.
Communication
We take the time to thoroughly understand the needs and circumstances of our grantees, and try to go above and beyond their initial requests. As an example, we provide transportation options, such as taxi rides or ride-sharing services, following dental procedures to ensure a comfortable recovery without the need for public transportation.
INSPIRING IMMEDIATE & LIFE-CHANGING IMPACT
“Free money works. Already, research has correlated unconditional cash disbursements with reductions in crime, child mortality, malnutrition, teenage pregnancy, and truancy, and with improved school performance, economic growth, and gender equality.”
– Rutger Bregman, Utopia for Realists
“The big reason poor people are poor is because they don’t have enough money,” notes economist Charles Kenny, “and it shouldn’t come as a huge surprise that giving them money is a great way to reduce that problem.”
